what I would've worn to the academy awards

Last night's Academy Award ceremony wrapped up this year's award season. As to be expected, white and black tuxes were the go-to for most men.

I think the Academy Awards (for those who don't know, it's like the Superbowl for film), is not the best occasion for over-the-top styling and outlandish fashion so the neutral color scheme makes sense.  So for my look (which is relatively affordable, because I'm not ballin' yet), I focused on utilizing classic colors with eye-catching details.  Trust me friends, classic doesn't have to mean boring.

What I love about this outfit is that it's tailored and refined AND fun.  It's classy enough for the ceremony and cool enough for the after parties -- what could be better? I'm sure you thought of a few other more important things, but keep them inside for now :).

Until next time,
